This is a collection of works by American artist Jason Polan. The artist, who passed away in 2020 at the young age of 37, created this whimsical collection of mail art from letters he had received and sent himself during his lifetime. While the artist is known for his cult-popular series " Every Person in New York, " depicting people and cityscapes, this book also explores the broader artistic endeavors that produced his playful sketches and line drawings.
The collection includes correspondence exchanged with friends, fans, and pen pals, whimsical drawings, and short text pieces, as well as works by artists Marcel Dzama and Stefan Marx . By bringing together these materials, the project explores the artist's affinity for the U.S. postal service and his fascination with mail art as a means of networking and building relationships.
